- 1. 2011 AEHS Swim & Dive Team at Divisionals
- 1.1. The swim and dive season comes to an end not with playoffs, brackets, or byes for the first round. Rather, its all in for a mad day of competition against the other high schools in our division. Yesterday, each school put up their three fastest swimmers for each event. Our Titans competed against the five other schools in Division 3: Blake, Gaithersburg, Kennedy, Rockville, and Magruder. Our divers started the morning at 7:30 AM, so thank you to Nick Simpson, Ryan Merrell, and Ben Withbroe, Max Gandy, Jordan Coyne and Nora Manzella for scoring us some points so early in the morning. - 1.2. Next up, our swimmers were in the pool swimming hard and fast, leaving it all in the water. People were setting best times, stepping up, starting fast and finishing faster. Rather than single out individuals I will say congratulations to all the swimmers who swam so well and thank you to all the teammates who came out to support the team. We always had the most people cheering at the end of any Einstein lane, we definitely have the most animated coach.
- 1.3. By the numbers: Last year's Division 4 champions were rewarded by moving up to Division 3 this season, where we faced much tougher competition. We benefited from challenging ourselves to win against faster opponents, and everyone improved over the course of the season. In the end, we will be returning to Division 4, after placing 6th at Divisionals by a mere 10.5 points.
