Whitman Girls Win Metros Again!!
Whitman girls were unstoppable at the 2011 Metros Swimming Championships! Even without winning a single individual event, their strength was demonstrated by overpowering the competition in both the 200 and 400 freestyle relays. Whitman Girls County Champions, Boys 7th
Whitman girls ruled Montgomery County Swimming Championships! Deep talent combined with almost unstoppable relays propelled the girls to their second straight County Championship with a 39 point margin of victory over 2nd place Churchill. The girls dominated (104-67) by winning every individual and relay swimming event. The boys also won, but with a more exciting score (92-79). Double individual event winners were Reia Tong in 200IM (2:13.94) and 100 breast (1:10.63), Michael Kellman in 200 Free (1:48.86) and 100 free (49.97), Charlotte Meyer in 50 free (25.06) and 100 Back (59.44), and Patrick Scordato in 50 free (22.21) and 100 fly (53.98). Other individual event winners were Simon Carne in 1 meter dive, Steven Goldberg in 100 breast (1:04.98), Lauren Levy in 500 free (5:15.50), Sarah Kannan in 100 free (56.38), Audrey Gould in 200 Free (1:58.39), and Katie Mahaffie in 100 fly (1:01.96).
