Falcon Divers, Guys and Girls, with Coach Jude Lozupone
Never before has Good Counsel seen such deep talent in the sport of diving. Lady Falcons, specifically, have broken school records this season and last with lead divers, Emily Langworthy (soph) with a 6-dive point total of 228 and Cyndi Hoppler (senior) with a 6-dive point total of 234 from their most recent meet against Bishop McNamara on Wednesday.
Cyndi looks stronger than ever this year and intends on competing NCAA Div I diving next year but, has not yet committed to a school. Look for her to place the same or better as she did last year at WMPSSDL championships where she finished 2nd.
A slight set back for Emily last week with an entry off 10M put her in a cast with a broken wrist until the day prior to WMPSSDLs but, she continues to train on an abbreviated schedule and seems confident that she will improve her scoring from last year's championships (3rd at WMPSSDL and 5th at Metros)
Both girls qualified and competed in Junior & Age Group Nationals last summer and are nationally ranked divers on 1M, 3M and Platform events - Emily is also ranked in the 3M Synchro event.
We are looking forward to strong performances from these two at WMPSSDLs and METROs - taking the Lady Falcons to victory in both championship meets.
WMPSSDLs for DIVING will be held Feb 2 beginning at 4:00pm at Holton Arms (both Girls & Boys)
METROs for DIVING will be held on Feb 7-8 (time TBA) at Germantown Indoor Aquatic Center in Boyds (Boys on Feb 7; Girls on Feb 8)
Come out and support your divers! GO FALCONS!
