We encourage you to participate in the many opportunities that we provide for you to submit, add, transmit, post, or provide written, photographic, audio, video, and other content to Reachforthewall.com.  However, this is a community site accessed by users across the Washington, DC region, and we require all users to abide by appropriate community standards.  In order to keep this site safe, enjoyable, and interesting for all of our users, we ask that you follow the rules outlined below.

By providing any content to this website, you are acknowledging that you have read, understand, consent to, and will comply with these rules. Failure to follow these rules may result in consequences including rejection or removal of any content you post, or suspension or revocation of your account or ability to provide content to the site.

1. You understand and agree that you are fully responsible for the content that you post.   You may not knowingly post content that violates the copyright, trademark, patent or other intellectual property rights of any third party, and you will remove the same should you discover that you have violated this provision.  You may only post content that you own, or that you otherwise have the right to post.  You may not impersonate others.  You will indemnify The Washington Post, its employees, agents, and affiliates from any and all claims and/or damages (including but not limited to reasonable attorneys' fees) resulting from any claim brought by any third party relating to content you have posted.

2.  You understand and agree not to post any content that is inappropriate or objectionable.  You may not post content that is false, inaccurate, misleading, libelous, defamatory, hurtful, obscene, abusive, that violates a third party's right to publicity, that otherwise violates any applicable local, state, national or international law, or that is otherwise objectionable or inappropriate. You may not post content that violates the privacy of anyone else.  You may not post content that degrades others on the basis of gender, race, class, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sexual preference, disability or other classification. Epithets and other language intended to intimidate or to incite violence will not be tolerated.

In general, put yourself in the place of the other person before you post content about him or her: if you wouldn’t want that material posted about you, then don’t post it about someone else.

3. You understand and agree to obtain consent from anyone shown in photo or video content that you post.  You must get all necessary consents from any individuals identified in or implicated by your submission.

If a minor is identified in a photo or video that you submit, you must also get consent from his or her parent or legal guardian, as appropriate.

4. You understand and agree that The Washington Post is not responsible for any content posted by third parties, including users of this website.  You further understand that we will not necessarily monitor the content posted.  Nevertheless, we may monitor or review any user-generated content as we choose, and we reserve the right to remove, reject, or revise content that we deem inappropriate or otherwise objectionable for any reason whatever without prior notice.

5. You understand and agree that user content is to be used only for non-commercial purposes.  You may not solicit funds, promote commercial entities or otherwise engage in commercial activity in the content you post.

6. You acknowledge and agree that you use and/or rely on any information provided by other users at your own risk.  The Washington Post is not in any manner endorsing the content of the content that users post and cannot and will not vouch for its reliability.

7. For any content that you post, you hereby grant to The Washington Post the royalty-free, irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive and fully sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, perform and display such content in whole or in part, world-wide and to incorporate it in other works, in any form, media or technology now known or later developed.
