Ashton wins both Boys & Girls 175 Free Relays relays to clinch athe first win of the season against NCC 426 to 364!

First Meet Spectacular, despite loss!!!

The opening meet of the 2010 MCSL season started out as well as any coach could hope for.  The Ashton Alligators hosted the Screaming Geese of King Farm, and despite a loss, the Alligators from Ashton swam very convincingly in the pool.  Out of 154 total swims for the Gators, 94 were life time bests!!!  In the words of one of the King Farm coaches "Man, your kids showed up today!!!"  I have to agree.

Besides the many outstanding swims put in by both teams, one swim needs to be noted.  Kieran Broder, competing in the 13/14 boys age group for Ashton, tied a 27 year old team record in the boys 50 Breast.  His time of 33.37 also seeds him 2nd overall in the All-Star standings for MCSL.  Way to go Kieran!!!

Other notable swims were put in by Katherine Cleary, Anna Gruber, Alex Konzmann, Anna Eaton, Monica Hallmark, Liam Cleary, Alaina Hallmark, Griffith Potts, Sarah Levendusky, Brandon Levendusky, Adam Liewehr, Simon Maxwell, Sabrina Simpson and Deanna Chirigos.  The biggest individual time drop of the meet was put in by Jayson Davis in the 9/10 boys 50 free.  He dropped almost 14 seconds since swimming it a week earlier at time trials!!!!  Way to go Jayson!!!

Coach Chuck couldn't be more proud of the effort the swimmers at Ashton exhibited at the meet.  "There are many ways to be successfull in the water.  Dropping time and striving for improvement are the best!!!"  Keep up the incredible swimming Ashton.

Our next meet finds the Alligators traveling to North Chevy Chase for a rematch of last years opening meet loss to the Sharks.  When asked, Coach Chuck said, "I know the kids are super pumped for another chance to prove themselves in the pool against NCC."  With the way the Alligators are swimming, there's little doubt in my mind that it will be a very exciting meet to watch.  Go get 'em Gators!!!
