July 25 - Country Glen Divisionals

While a vacation-depleted Country Glen Sun Devils squad didn't get the overall results they were hoping to at the F Divisionals today, there were still plenty of team accomplishments to celebrate.  First place finishes from Joey Bieda, Drew Fisher and Meredith Srour fired up the supportive parent spectators, and the Team had many personal bests all through the meet.  There were also several kids who swam events outside their speciality to fill holes in the roster - special thanks go to Jordan Matus (10) for swimming two 11-12 events!

The highlight of the day for the Team was the performance of Joey Bieda, who set not one but TWO Team Records.  In the Boys 13-14 50 Free, he set a new mark of 26.35, and also shattered the Boys 13-14 Fly record with a time of 28.83.  The old records date from 1987 and 1986, respectively - congratulations Joey!

July 18 - Virtual Meets Don't Count in The Glen

IMG_0492 - Copy.JPGDespite the "virtual meet" tool predicting a 51 point loss, Country Glen secured a big win on Saturday with a 410-382 victory over Merrimack Park!

The entire team rose to the challenge, but special mention must be given to Meredith Srour, who broke a 26 year old Team Record in the Girl's 9-10 25 Breast with a time of 20.08.

Not content with only breaking one record, she teamed up with Allison Srour, Ellie Sherman and Olga Kislovskiy for the Girls 175 Graduated Free and set a new Team Record with a time of 1.58.04.

Congratulations to all on a huge win to give CG a 3-2 season record!!

Coach Geoff has hatched a diabolical plan for great success at Divisionals - watch this space...

July 14 - Coaches Long Course

Country Glen was represented atthe Coaches Invitational Long Course Meet by two of its top swimmers, Will Sherman (left) and Drew Fisher, and their performances did not disappoint.
