Quiet, articulate, and really fast.  That's what we can say about Mary, our 8 and Under Tsunami.  Mary completed the season at the MCSL Individual All Stars placing 2nd in the 25m freestyle and fifth in the 25m butterfly, with personal best times in both events.  13 - 14 boys breaststroker, Patrick Reyes, captured 6th place overall with a great swim in the B heat final to overtake swimmers seeded above him.  9-10 butterflyer, Brianna Forte maintained her seed and completed a stupendous season with a 7th place finish.

The Tsunami Swim Team honored all of their swimmers in the evening following the All Star meet at their season end banquet and awards ceremony.  The swimmers and their families are grateful for a winning season and graciously thank head coach Kendra Williams and her assistants Rob Dicker and Stephanie Pratt.  See you next season in Division K.

TSUNAMI CLAIM BRONZE

Missing members from the team for the season championship, the Tsunami coaches Kendra Williams, Rob Dicker and Stephanie Pratt, created a line up they felt would ensure a 5th place finish in L Division.  What the trio did not expect was the performance of their swimmers who stepped to the front of the blocks, securing personal best times and moving up the notches from their seedings.

Best performance highlights:

Patrick Reyes (13-14) dropped 2.26 seconds from his 100 m Individual Medley to take home the gold. Reyes executed a perfect race from start to finish.  In the boys 11-12 50 m Butterfly, Thomas Bowrin was seeded 8th on the program, but churned the waters leaving the first heat in his wake, taking a 1st place finish in his heat and 4th overall, adding the much needed points to stay ahead of Old Farm.  Finally, assistant coach Stephanie Pratt, on only five hours of sleep (out all night with the other coaches placing good luck signs to their swimmers), and no time to practice, took the bronze and a personal best time in the 15-18 girls 50 m Butterfly, out touching Fallsmead's Nicolle Wainer by 0.01 seconds.  The additional points guranteed the Tsumani their unexpected bronze team placement.

After enduring three straight seasons without a win, the Tsunami team is ready to celebrate their 3rd place in the division, 1st place finish at Relay Carnival and dual meet record of 3 wins and 2 losses.
