Divisionals
Parents, coaches and fans of the Blue Dolphins were proud of the effort at last weekend's Division B 'Divisionals' meet. We were oh-so-close to a third place finish, but the relays provided the other teams with the points they needed to finish ahead of us. Scoring was as follows:
Mill Creek Towne 952.5
Stonegate 920
Potomac Glen 733
Quince Orchard 730.5
Manchester Farm 700
Hallowell 591

Willam An (above) had an awesome showing at Divisionals with four wins and capping-off an UNDEFEATED season and the high point earner for Manchester Farm. Congratulations William!

The 11-12 Girls 50M Backstroke is pictured above. Dylan Gribble is stretching her lead to nab one of her three first place finishes along with three team records. In the foreground, Rachel Ziegler is shown comming up fast. She grabbed the second spot in this race -- the only 1-2 finish for the Blue Dolphins in the meet. Way to go girls!
Other winners at Divisionals for MFST included Sierra Harvey, Taylor Oates, and Robert Allsopp.
Week 5 vs. Potomac Glen
The Blue Dolphins overcame a small halftime deficit to pull out a strong win at Potomac Glen. All our swimmers dug deep to give the team its best overall performance of the season winning 416 to 376.
This big win comes as we prepare for the Divisionals meet next weekend -- now with renewed confidence and a lot of faster swimmers!
After hearing the winning score the team took a well-deserved plunge -- including Coach Joe Flaherty! (Who received a little 'help' into the pool! Watch the video below!)

Coaches Long Course
Four swimmers from Manchester Farm took part in last night's rain-soaked Coaches Long Course Invitational that featured the top eight swimmers in the county in each event. There was a steady downpour throughout most of the meet and by the last few events they were clearing the decks as the thunder and lighting moved in.

The results were as follows:
Eil Fouts (9-10 Boys): 7th place in the 100 M Freestyle and 2nd place in the 100 M Backstoke
William An (11-12 Boys): 7th place in the 200 M Individual Medley and 8th place in the 100 M Backstroke
Dylan Gribble (11-12 Girls): 4th place in the 200 M Individual Medley and 2nd place in the 100 M Butterfly (and Dylan has another year to compete in this age group!)
Robert Allsopp (13-14 Boys): 3rd place in the 100 M Butterfly.
Way to represent the Blue Dolphins -- congratulations swimmers!
Relay Carnival
The Blue Dolphins missed fourth place by a single point at today's Relay Carnival held at Stonegate pool.
There was plenty of excitment throughout the meet. At one point, a loud ovation could be heard throughout the venue as our 11-12 Girls 200 M Medley Relay team exited the pool and walked toward our team area having completely dominated their event. Their 2:20.89 was a full 8 seconds faster than the second place team.

Week 4 vs. Hallowell
The Blue Dolphins survived a cool, wet morning but couldn't quite make up their halftime deficit to visiting Hallowell. Final score: Manchester Farm 384, Hallowell 407.

Two pool records were set today. First, Dylan Gribble in Girls 11-12 50 M Backstroke with a time of 34.96. And Matthew Lee of Hallowell took nearly two seconds off the Boys 15-18 100 M Breaststroke with a time of 1:09.68.

Super Winners of this week's meet included William An (who is undefeated so far this season), Eli Fouts, Taylor Oates (pictured above), and Robert Allsopp.
Farewell to our Seniors -- We'll miss you!

Our Seniors were honored today. Pictured (from left) are Matthew Allsopp (a team member for 13 years), Chris Franklin (12 years), Claire Marcus (12 years), Libby Bean (10+ years), Daniel Dresser (11 years), and Luke Owen (12 years). That's a combined 70+ years of dedication to the Blue Dolphins from these very special young people. Thank you for helping to make our team the success that it is today. We will surely miss each of you and wish you nothing but the best.
Week 3 vs. Mill Creek Towne
Week three saw our Blue Dolphins head over to Mill Creek Towne where they faced a very strong team, coming up short 329 to 463.

Some highlights of the day included first place finishes in all their events for William An, Eli Fouts (pictured above), and Robert Allsopp (pictured below). Dylan Gribble took additional time off of her previous team record for the 11-12 girls 50 M Backstroke, going 34.95.

Week 2 vs. Quince Orchard
The Blue Dolphins faced another tough competitor at Quince Orchard this weekend. After falling behind by 47 points in the first half, our dolphins hung tough but were unable to make up any ground. Our swimmers keep showing remarkable improvement from week to week so the rest of "B" division better look out!

Dylan Gribble (above) set a new team record in the 11-12 Girls' 50M Backstroke and broke her own team record in the 12U Girls' 100 IM.
And once again, Wei William An went undefeated in all four of his individual events -- super job William!
Week 1 vs. Stonegate

The Blue Dolphins hosted a very talented team from Stonegate this Saturday, losing 330 to 463. To give you an idea of how fast this meet was, two team records and four pool records were set!
